Inspiration for the Gecko Pendant
Having added chameleons and green crested lizards to my collection very early on , I soon discovered that people are rather particular about their lizards. Holidays in hotter climes have developed, in many people, a sweet spot reserved for geckos and salamanders.
So it was not at all a surprise when I was asked to make a gecko pendant for an extra special Christmas present. I chose the moorish gecko due to it’s lovely bumpy skin and its endearing crocodile-like grin. In fact the moorish gecko is also called the crocodile gecko.
Having always had a particular love of silver, as opposed to gold, I was very pleasantly surprised when I realised how well this little chap works in gold – particularly when paired with the more sparkly spiga chain.
If you’re rather goofy about geckos (I’ve met lots that are!), he/she pairs rather well with my gecko ring.
What my customers say:
“I am just dropping you a quick line to let you know my wife was delighted with the gecko necklace. We spent New Year’s Eve with my nephew Dean and his wife Alex (small world) who is your cousin. Thanks again for your attention to detail and a great result.”
“The lucky recipient here, I wanted to say thanks so much, it’s the most beautiful piece of jewellery I have ever seen (and I have a lot)! The attention to detail is amazing and I had lots of people asking about it at the NYE party – did Alex say we both own similar treefrog pieces from you (which is pure coincidence, I didn’t know the connection), but we ended up having a ‘gecko & frog appreciation’ group crowded round the table! Thanks again”
