I modelled these Nursehound Shark Earrings from the baby shark that is integrated into my Mermaid’s Purse Pendant. These earrings feature a left and right shark. I regularly walk along the local Kent beaches and find Mermaid’s purses washed up, when I made this pendant how could I not include the baby shark!

My jewellery is handcrafted in wax from photographs, then cast using the lost wax technique.

Available as drop or stud earrings and packed in a black gift box.

Inspiration for my Nursehound Shark Earrings:

These mini Shark Earrings are modelled on the Nursehound Shark (also known as the large-spotted dogfish, greater spotted dogfish or bull huss) and are available as drop or stud earrings. I was inspired to model this shark to feature in and accompany my Mermaid’s Purse Pendant. I regularly find mermaid’s purses on my trips to the Kent coast and was taken by their shape and intricacy. These sharks are widespread around the UK, they stay close to the sea floor and live in rocky areas with lots of algae. They are night hunters feeding on squid, octopus, crabs, large shrimps and even other sharks!
