This Green Sea Turtle ring is modelled on the magnificent Green Sea Turtle. The turtle is fully detailed and is mounted on a wide, sea grass design band.

My Green Sea Turtle Jewellery collection has pieces that can be paired with this ring, such as turtle earrings or a turtle pendant (or even cufflinks).

Inspiration for my Green Sea Turtle Ring

This Green Sea Turtle Ring is a later addition to my Turtle Jewellery collection. My original turtles (Green Sea Turtle Pendant and matching earrings) were commissioned as a 20th wedding anniversary present. Throughout their happy marriage, the couple had had the honour of visiting their nesting beaches in the Turkish Mediterranean and swimming with them in the Gapalagos. My turtles proved to be a great addition to my collection and were much admired. However, the pendant being a large piece, I was asked by many turtle lovers whether I would consider making a small turtle pendant. One they could wear every day, rather than on more special occasions. I also have a friend who adores turtles but is very petite in build – so my large turtle would have looked more like a dinner plate on her!! I duly obliged – and she is quickly becoming my most popular turtle.

Turtles live all over the world, nest in over 80 countries, and live in the coastal areas of more than 140 countries. The green sea turtle is one of the largest hard-shelled sea turtles in the world. They are herbivores, which is unique, among sea turtles, feeding on mostly grasses and algae. It is this diet that gives their cartilage and fat – rather than their shells – a green hue.
