Chameleon Pendant

Chameleons are such fascinating creatures that they became one of the first things that I modelled when I started to learn the lost wax process.

This pendant is an adaptation of my original Chameleon Necklace, focussing purely on the chameleon itself. It hangs from a silver chain which loops around the forearms of the chameleon – hanging either upright or at a slight angle depending on your preference.

Why not pair him up with dinner in the form of  House Fly Earrings? – just select the gift set option and let me know which earrings you would like to receive.

Inspiration for my Chameleon Pendant…

Chameleons appeared very early on my To Do list. They are among the most charismatic of creatures: their eccentric appearance, their bizarre eyes, their colours and their lovely curly tails. When researching them, I particularly fell in love with a photo of a baby chameleon clinging precariously to the end of a fine leaf. I was determined to capture the magic of that photo. However I was worried that a design of chameleon pendant incorporating a leaf might roll over when worn. So I started experimenting with settings to make sure that the chameleon could be admired in all of its glory. The result was my chameleon necklace.

Since then, my chameleon has appeared in various forms, including my popular chameleon ring. This pendant design is more reflective of my underlying desire to simply model the creature itself. As well as ensuring that the chameleon is the sole focus of the piece, this pendant also offers a smaller pendant option for chameleon lovers.

I still get requests for more chameleons…earrings, brooches, ornaments. Evidently, lots of other people are as captivated by them as I have been. Watch this space!
