Inspiration for my Mermaids Purse Pendant
I was inspired to make a Mermaids Purse Pendant from my walks along the beach with our kids and beachcombing things to show them and put in their buckets. We were always finding Mermaids Purses and when we got home I would have a pile of them sat on the side of my workbench. I started and stopped modelling this pendant a number of times, however in 2021 I decided to try and complete a range of sea creature jewellery and this pushed me to complete this pendant.
This Mermaids Purse is modelled on the Nurseshark egg case (also known as the Cat Shark or Bull Huss). If you want to know more about these Sharks click here.
This pendant features a baby shark in its egg case and is reversible, so that it can be worn with the shark hidden against your chest, or facing outwards.
